This £20 H&M Swimsuit Looks so Expensive

This £20 H&M Swimsuit Looks so Expensive

This week Who What Wear UK columnist Marissa Cox posted a picture on Instagram of her in the French Riviera in the perfect black swimsuit. It has thick straps, a scoop neckline and a high cut on the leg (but not overly so in a Love Island way). Despite its simplicity, I had assumed that this would be a luxury find—however, this swimsuit is actually only £20 from H&M.

Swimwear experts have been telling me for several years that H&M and & Other Stories is the best place to find quality, expensive-looking bikinis and one-pieces on a tighter budget. Marisa’s one-piece doesn’t only come in black—it’s also available in a yellow-and-white stripe (very Amalfi coast) and a black-and-white stripe print.

Swimwear trends come and go each year, however the one constant is a black swimsuit—as these are always an elegant choice. Keep scrolling to see—and shop—the H&M swimsuit.

Trump to Sign Order to Improve Kidney Disease Care

Trump to Sign Order to Improve Kidney Disease Care

June 10, 2019 — Significant changes in how kidney disease is treated in the United States are outlined in an executive order expected to be signed Wednesday by President Donald Trump.

The objective is to switch from a system that emphasizes costly, time-consuming dialysis in large centers to at-home dialysis or transplants that can lengthen patients lives, the Associated Press reported.

There’s a severe organ shortage, which could impede the push for more transplants. In order to tackle that problem, the administration wants to ease financial challenges for living donors.

The executive order also includes measures to help groups that collect organs from deceased donors. Officials pointed to a study suggesting that in the long term, it may be possible to find 17,000 more kidneys and 11,000 other organs from deceased donors for transplant every year, the AP reported.

Another goal is to improve prevention of kidney disease.

The moves could save lives and millions in Medicare spending, the AP reported.

The Short Girl with the Bag in Fashion

The Short Girl with the Bag in Fashion

So Short Girl with bag (Γυναικεία Τσάντα) in Fashion has always been based on the obvious. The small girl. The actual smallest girl in my year – I know this because when they lined us up on our photo day in year 11, I was right at the end. Being short has its pros and cons. But today, I’m feeling like a positive-prin whilst writing this on my lunch in work.

I was never going to be tall. My gorgeous parental’s are small too, so the genes were never there for me to have long legs like a gazelle. My middle sister – there’s 3 of us – is the tallest, and her body to legs ratio makes me SUPER jealous. She has the legs of the family. Me and the oldest sis, we’re just tiny and always will be. But getting this list together was surprisingly easy for me…

Over the years I’ve loved and hated being “the small one” – but more often than not, it’s been positive. And I want to share with you WHY I think being a petite gal is a trait that I can be proud of… I mean I’m going to have to face up to it – I ain’t changing any time soon!

1. Most boys are taller than you

This is true. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 6 years, and yes I’m only 22. Gasp, do whatever – but we’re still together guys! And he is WELL taller than me, and that’s one thing that I love! Being small means your fella is more than likely going to be taller. Being a tall girl, and a small lad… okay, it works for some people and sorry to offend – but that ain’t for me.

2. You can buy kids trainees

I have bought Converse, Nike, Adidas – you name it. All around half the price of the adults because I have itty-bitty feet that match my small body. I always get, “Ahhh your feet are tiny!” But I don’t think huge clown feet would suit me, do you? The same goes with my bags! I prefer backpacks and not big handbags.

3. Lots of leg room and get comfy in small spaces

When I go on holiday with the family, or driving and I’m the passenger, curling up in a ball is always my favourite thing. I can get comfy in some of the most bizarre positions, while people with longs legs argue with their limbs.

4. You look younger – which will always work better when you’re thrifty at fifty

How many times have I been stopped going into town… too many to count. But this young face of mine is going to look young even when I’m older. I might hate it now – YES I’M 22 – but when I’m 50, by GOD I’m going to look a right sight better. So this is my response when people do a shocked face at my age – “Well, when you’ve got wrinkles, I’ll still have my baby face” … along with a smug smile that usually changes the topic.

5. You can wear heels and still not be taller than your fella

I know this is sort of mentioned above, but this is a different matter. Some girls are happy because every day, they are right height ratio in a couple. Bravo! BUT, when it comes to a night out and you’ve gotta’ decide whether to wear your platforms or not, it’s a decision that needs to be made for two people. I don’t have that problem!

short-girl-bag-fashion

6. Cute by default

It’s just a given. And you can get away with MURDER, especially being the youngest and the smallest in my family. Winning!

7. Can be lazy and get people to grab things off tall shelves

I worked in a shop that was quite tall, so when those bags (Γυναικεία Τσάντα) needed filling up and the cards needed a quick shuffle, there would always be friendly chap or gal to help me with the short girl problems. But this makes me happy, thanks guys!

8. Last to know when it rains

It’s just a cute one. Last to know when it rains, and can easily fit under an umbrella with whoever is holding it. It’s the little things!

9. Hair to height ratio means longer hair

It’s just science!!! Small body, and short hair looks longer on me, just because I’m on the petite side of life. It’s logic!

10. A memorable trait

A memorable trait that my friends and family know me for. I’m the little one of the group, that stands at the end in photos because it just doesn’t work with my friends with me floating about in the middle. It’s something that comes and goes as good and bad – but today, being the Short Girl with the Bag (Γυναικεία Τσάντα) in Fashion makes me happy!

Victoria Beckham Wore a White Dress to a Wedding

Victoria Beckham Wore a White Dress to a Wedding

Victoria and David Beckham attended the wedding of footballer Sergio Ramos and Pilar Rubio in Seville, Spain this weekend. VB’s wedding guest outfit sounds like a bold rule-breaking choice, as she wore a white midi dress with a pair of neon shoes. White is traditionally considered a no-no for guests, however Victoria shows how you can wear it in a respectful way—as long as you opt for a silhouette and fabric that isn’t too bridal and wear a print, this colour is a viable option for guests.

Victoria wore a knot-print sleeved dress with a scarf detail at the neckline from her upcoming autumn winter 2019 collection. This knot motif was a key theme for her next collection, as everything from jumpers to blouses feature this nautical detail. Victoria paired her maritime dress with a pair of bright pink neon pumps, which she has been wearing non-stop this summer. The stilettos from her own label are available in both a neon green and pink, and she’s worn them to every event in her calendar from a football match at Old Trafford to a night with the Duchess of Cambridge.

Keep scrolling to see VB’s wedding guest outfit, and the other times she has worn neon shoes.

Maine Legalizes Assisted Suicide

Maine Legalizes Assisted Suicide

FRIDAY, June 14, 2019 (HealthDay News) — Maine has become the eighth state to legalize medically assisted suicide.

“It is my hope that this law, while respecting the right to personal liberty, will be used sparingly,” Gov. Janet Mills, told the Associated Press.

Under the law, doctors can prescribe a lethal dose of a drug to terminally ill patients and it will not be legally a suicide.

The bill had failed to pass in a state referendum and also a number of times in the state Legislature. It finally passed by one vote in the House and a narrow margin in the Senate.

The new law was praised by Staci Fowler, who took on the fight for the law in honor of her friend Rebecca VanWormer, the AP reported.

VanWormer died of breast cancer in 2017 and had pressed for such a law for years before her death.

“This is what she wanted,” Fowler told the AP. “And now everybody has the option that she didn’t have.”

New Beauty and Wellness Line Prima, by Honest Company Veterans, Aims to Rebrand CBD

New Beauty and Wellness Line Prima, by Honest Company Veterans, Aims to Rebrand CBD

Photo: Courtesy of Prima

I receive an average of three PR emails per day that include the acronym CBD, and I’m sure many of you who don’t write about beauty and wellness as part of your job have also found those three letters to be pretty inescapable of late. The self-care boom, combined with the recent legalization of industrial hemp farming in the United States, and growing cultural interest in all things cannabis, have coincided to make the non-psychoactive, cannabis-derived chemical compound the trendiest ingredient to hit the beauty and wellness space in recent memory. The substance, believed by researchers to be capable of helping with everything from anxiety to skin inflammation to epilepsy, can be found in everything from tinctures and vape pens, to lattes and seltzers, to massage oils and face serums. It’s expected to surpass $20 billion in U.S. sales by 2024.

Thanks for watching!

Rather than a wealth of great options for consumers, this explosion — which experts say has only just begun — has really only created more confusion around what CBD does, if anything, and whether or not it really belongs in every single thing we consume or put on our skin.

Launching Wednesday, Prima is a new CBD company that aims to take away some of that confusion, along with several of our modern-day physical and mental ailments. It’s starting with three products: a daily supplement, a nighttime face oil and a therapeutic skin butter, that will soon expand into a range of other treatments. The company stands out in today’s crowded CBD landscape for a few reasons: One is its founders: There’s CEO Christopher Gavigan, who co-founded The Honest Company with Jessica Alba; COO and fellow Honest Company alumna Laurel Angelica Meyers; and Chief Education Officer Jessica Assaf, a health and cannabis activist, Harvard Business School alumna and longtime advocate for clean products.
